What is IHE-Services
Bringing the IHE experience for connectivity testing of healthcare information systems to regional e-health programs and large-scale enterprises
Built-to-purpose testing for HIT interoperability
IHE-Europe, a non-profit association dedicated to interoperability in health information technology (HIT), has created a new Committee, `IHE Services`, to provide interoperability testing for national e-health projects, HIT users in regional hospitals or vendors developing new platforms.
IHE-Services offers a unique suite of tools and services to its clients. Developed for the annual IHE European Connectathon, which brings together more than 300 software engineers from 90 organizations in an intensive connectivity marathon, these include:
- The Gazelle management software that supervises and coordinates testing activities.
- Unique interoperability test engines for DICOM, XML, HL7 and IHE integration profiles.
- Simulators for online, or virtual testing
- Technical project management and results reporting services to organize and manage special-purpose interoperability testing events.
IHE-Services is a part of IHE-Europe, created in response to a growing demand from e-health initiatives for advanced connectivity testing with a flexibility to adapt tools to local and regional requirements. IHE-Europe has contracted with French company Kereval, an established software testing company for the telecom and automotive industries, to provide resources for these efforts.
