Brussels, 12 November 2024 — The European Health Data Space (EHDS) signifies a new era of data accessibility and exchange within the European Union, presenting an unprecedented opportunity for Member States to elevate healthcare standards. Recognising the pivotal role of the EHDS, HL7 Europe and IHE-Europe have jointly embarked on a unified mission to optimise their organisation’s support for this endeavour.

Trieste, June 2024: 2024 sees the 24th IHE-Europe Connectathon being held in Trieste, Italy with over 250 participating attendees expected, plus in excess of 100 delegate attendees and 30 speakers at the Two-Day IHE Experience Day event, which is in parallel to the IHE-Europe Connectathon, 3-4 June. 

June 2024: IHE-Europe is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. János Vincze as the new Vendor Co-Chair. Dr. Vincze is an experienced leader in the medical software industry, bringing over 15 years of experience from startups to S&P 500 companies.

May 2024: IHE-Europe is thrilled to report a major milestone for the IHE SHARAZONE, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at boosting digital interoperability and the exchange of health information. This innovative platform now proudly supports 15 participating organizations, each committed to enhancing the standardization of healthcare technologies, comprising 37 creators and 24 consumers systems with more than 150 touch points successfully tested. 

18 December 2023: IHE-Europe welcomes the initiative of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) regulation, recognizing its significance in advancing the accessibility and exchange of health data across the European Union. 

Vienna, 14 April 2020: IHE-Europe is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Andreas Klingler as Vendor co-chair for a two-year mandate with immediate effect, succeeding Jürgen Brandstätter. Andreas will work closely with Dr. Stéphane Spahni, who continues as User co-chair of IHE-Europe having been appointed just last year. Jürgen Brandstätter will assume the Deputy Vendor co-chair position.
